Conversation

Long time no see!
Had to do a "conversation" piece for my C.F. Payne class so I used a reference of myself getting my hair done at my sister's wedding.
Fun times!

The sketch is up because I hate the painting. I knew I'd botch it up so I scanned it for safety reasons.
Maybe I'll paint it digitally some day!

Well.. It's a little dusty in here.
Anyway, here's some stuff that I did a year ago
that I forgot about. My hard drive was acting up but
I got it to work and I noticed a few pieces I forgot
existed.

So here they are!

Don't remember if I posted this one before, but it's slightly altered.
We had to make a flat illustration and color/texturize it in Painter.

Tags for Mod Cloth. Definitely one of my favorite
online sites for clothes. Wish I could buy there more often!

This is way older than a year. Probably 3.
I just happened to find it and I will always love
the way I drew the hair. Despite it being an old style.
I may finish it one day. I'll probably change everything.
But the hair.

Typical.

Of course, once I get my internet working and start to get some school work to show, I have to wipe my hard drive clean. There was an issue that my computer didn't agree with and I lost all my stuff.
Well, not all. I have quite a bit on my external hard drive. But it's okay! I don't miss a lot of it. It was getting cluttered anyway. It's nice to have a clean start. :)

Internet at last.

Guess who FINALLY got internet!
Our phone jacks weren't turned on so we had to get a technician to come and fix the problem.
Cost us an extra pretty penny, but it's worth it!

3 months without it, you learn to appreciate the little things.

Lots of art and sketches in the works! I'll also be posting some of my graphics and package design soon. That class is wonderful!

Stay tuned!

Here's something I was working on a few days ago. Just something simple.
I really like the soft colors in this one.

Monday, August 1, 2011

Just got back from vacation and still no internet at the place! It will probably be a few weeks before we do have it, so once again, I'll be on rarely. I'm currently at work with not much to do so I'm taking advantage of the Wi-fi as much as possible.

Working on a few things to post very soon!

Trying something new.

Trying to keep the drawing hand going.
I'm still leeching internet. Currently at Travonna 24 Hour Coffee House.

This is nothing special, but I'm really digging the new eye/profile style. We'll see if it sticks!

New logo is up! I will probably still tweak it here and there, but for now this is what you get. Way better than the other one, ha.
At the moment, we have no internet at our new apartment so I'm leeching internet from local cafes and school wi-fi. I won't be posting terribly often. But check back soon! There will be updates eventually.
Now excuse me while I indulge in my iced chai. Mmm~ :)
Trying to get my butt to a scanner.
Also, a new logo is in the process. Trying to make it perfect. :)

Sketches.

Just a few sketches from my senior year notebook I found on my computer. I had used these for some projects throughout the year, which is pretty much the only reason I have them scanned.
I'll have to pull more from that sketchbook when I get ahold of that scanner again. I actually had a lot of fun filling that one up. :)

Rapunzel

Neil Peart

You get a cookie if you knew who that was before I told you. :)

Hamper Design.

Class: Advertising Team

A simple hamper design. The initial design was for kids and it was a giraffe picking clothes off the tree, but I changed it to appeal more to mom's.

Target Card.

Class: Advertising Concepts

Semester long project - Target Gift Card.

I imagined the background being somewhat holographic.

Watch Your Step.

Class: Design for Illustration

Simple sketch to final process. Had a lot of fun with this one.

Patterns in Nature.

Class: Design for Illustration

The idea for this project was to play around with patterns in nature - spirals, branching, polygons, etc.
First was a black and white comp of two or more of these patterns, then a colored final that loosely followed the initial comp.

Chocolate Packaging.

Class: Design for Illustration

Simple chocolate packaging for my Design for Illustration class.
This is one I am particularly proud of, and it was the beginning of my passion for package design.

Sculpture Turn Around Sketches.

Class: Illustration Methods

These preliminary sketches were for a sculpture we had to build for a final. I will not, however, post pictures of the final sculpture. It is in the trash. 3D is currently not my forte.

Wonder Woman and Super Girl.

One of many Sophomore Year finals I had to complete.
Class: Electronic Illustration
Subject: Transformation

The idea was to incorporate "Transformation" of any kind into your subject matter. Two illustrations, anything you wanted, using two of the following - Photoshop, Illustrator or Corel Painter.
I had chosen Wonder Woman and Super Girl and transformed them into 50's Pin up Girls.

Paper Texture is one of my favorite things to incorporate into my artwork.
You'll see it present many times throughout this blog.

Greetings, Fellow Bloggers!

This is my attempt at keeping an updated blog of my own Illustrations and Design work. A portfolio, if you will. I figured it was better than a Deviant Art and a little less complicated than a full on website. So let's get started!
